EMU OIL- a summary of an article from the Herbal Healer academy news-summer 05
Some of
the interesting properties of emu oil include it being highly penetrating. It can penetrate the stratum barrier of the skin.
Chiropractors & massage therapists use the oil for its ability to penetrate and get into the muscles to relax them so
they can be worked on. It is anti-inflammatory. And it has been show to reduce pain, swelling & stiffness in joints
and to reduce recent bruising and muscle pain and ease sports related muscle strains as well.
It is bacteriostatic
which means it grows no bacterial organisms. The oil is a low potential for irritation of the skin and shows to have almost
no side effects. Emu oil does not clog up pores and does not cause pimples when used. It is a good moisturizer which adds
to its protective ability & promotes anti-aging of the skin.
It is awesome to use as a fast healer of chronic
dry skin and does need to be applied twice a day after a shower or bath too. It is also known to help in arthritis, muscle
and joint paind and swelling. It was also studied out at the Burn Center at Texas Tech University for its use as a adequate
lubrication and aid in burn healing process. This can be used with care on children and animals also. Some individuals have
used it for psoriasis, excema, skin 3wounds, rashes, chronic dry skin and joint relief.
